doula and her work. It is powerfully touching and informative. The movie
will be released nationally on PBS in October. In Chicago, it

Strengthening Connections, CHC National Community-Based Doula Conference 2006 CHC is proud to present our 2nd national community-based doula conference in 2006. The keynote speaker is Dr. Susan Ludington, and seminar topics will include mother-baby skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding, advocating for sustainable funding, evaluation of doula impact, reflective supervision, prevention of prematurely and SIDS, and much more!! | The Community-Based Doula: Reclaiming Birth, Empowering Families, by CHC Executive Director Rachel Abramson and co-authors Ginger Breedlove and Beth Isaacs, will be published by Zero to Three Press in 2006. The book is about the impact of doula support and the importance of the community-based doula model to families around the country. HMHB is a leading voice on maternal and child health, reaching an estimated one million health care professionals, parents and policymakers through its membership of over 200 local, state and national organizations.
